Host City

The city of Hermann offers a beauty and tranquility not found in many areas of the world. Hermann's German founders designed the city to convey old world charm like Germany's Rhine Valley, with vineyards on the land and hillsides overlooking the beautiful Missouri River that flows by the town. With seven wineries in and around town, a large historic district with restaurants, shops and galleries, and more than 50 exceptional lodging choices including B&Bs, luxury inns and cozy cottages, Hermann is a perfect getaway destination in the Heart of Missouri Wine Country.
For serious training or a leisurely family outing, Hermann is a popular destination for cyclists. A protected bike path on the Missouri River Bridge conntects Hermann with the Katy Trail; there are several designated bike routes, bike rentals and repairs are available, and several cycling events are held each year. http://www.hermannmo.info/biking/
Key Attractions:Large Historic District, Stone Hill Winery, Hermannhof Winery, Deutschheim State Historic Site, German School Museum, Showboat Theatre, Clara Eitmann Messmer Amphitheatre, Hermann Wine Trail; also many B&Bs, quaint inns, luxury cottages.
